Kelda Martensen
Kelda Martensen is an artist and educator born in Tacoma and recently relocated to Burien, Washington. Kelda currently teaches art at Central Washington University, Pratt Fine Art Center, Sev Shoon Art Center, Moshier Art Center and South Seattle Community College. Kelda specializes in the print and book arts and has painted community murals in Moseushi, Japan and Berlin, Germany. Kelda’s work has been exhibited across the United States and Europe and can be found in the Special Collections of Washington University in St. Louis and Vilnius Art Centre of Vilnius, Lithuania. Kelda received her MFA from Washington University in St. Louis and her BA from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Kelda’s awards include the Association of Women Faculty Award, the Nancy Spirtas Kranzberg Illustrated Book Award, the Bell Cramer Award in Printmaking, the CBAA Graduate Finalist Award for Outstanding Graduate work in the Book Arts and an international artist residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France. Kelda’s work is to be featured in the book Adventures in Letterpress by Brandon Mise.
