ARTIST STATEMENT
I am as emerging as they come in the professional field of visual arts, reviving the award-winning hobby of my childhood as a voice for my adult goals. People care for what they care about, and my intent is to promote an appreciation for the planet and the people who live here. For this collection of paintings, I juxtaposed the smooth forms of wildlife with the rigid, geometric encroachment of human civilization.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Cameron Quinn was born and raised in Western Washington and loves the Pacific Northwest for its diversity in culture and natural environments. Her poetry – which often tackles women’s issues - has been published in multiple languages in several literary journals. Since graduating from Western Washington University in 2008 she has dedicated her time to world travel, tall-ship sailing, and volunteering. She is an avid volunteer for environmental causes – primarily through educating and exciting the public at the Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle Aquarium, and aboard the schooner Adventuress - and is now expanding her audience through artistic venues. Through her art, Cameron hopes to beautify the lives of others, to nourish an appreciation for the planet and the people who live here, and to invoke change through positive activism.
